Monday Music Notes is a weekly post that is intended to remind everyone of upcoming events and due dates. If you ever have questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Monday, April 2nd

– After School Practice until 3:30 p.m.

– Report Cards!

 

Tuesday, April 3rd

– Symphonic Band Rehearsal until 4:30 p.m.

– This rehearsal does count towards each Symphonic Band students quarter 4 grade!

– This is our last MPA rehearsal, so it’s essential that everyone is in attendance.

 

Wednesday, April 4th

– After School Practice until 3:30 p.m.

 

Thursday, April 5th

– No After School Practice

– Symphonic Band Performance @ FBA Concert MPA

– 3:00 p.m. – Students report to Band Hall

– 4:30 p.m. – Depart for Hernando High School

– 6:00 p.m. – Warm-up

– 6:30 p.m. – Perform

– 7:30 p.m. – Depart for RBSMS

– 8:30 p.m. – Arrive/Dismissal at RBSMS

Food: While we are waiting for the busses to arrive at 4:30, students will be treated to pizza. We ask that students bring their own drinks.

Uniform: The Uniform for this event is orange band shirt, black dress pants or slacks (no jeans), black socks, and black shoes. Students will also be wearing our suit jackets for this performance. Students dressed incorrectly will not be permitted to perform or travel with us.

Grading: As a band, all of our performances are important. This one requires us to perform for 4 judges, to determine the quality of our program. Some directors refer to it as the FSA for Band. This performance will count as a significant portion of the Symphonic Band’s Rehearsal and Performance Grade.

Chaperones: We are in need of 3-5 parents to chaperone this event. If you are available, please email Mr. Schmidt ASAP!

 

Friday, April 5th

– No After School Practice

 

Other Notes:

– It’s essential that all students continue to practice 30 minutes per day. It helps build muscle and technique that allows them to become better musicians. We appreciate anything you can do to help encourage your student.

– If you haven’t yet gotten your Band/Chorus Shirts, SeaWorld trip, or Star Wars money in, please get it turned in ASAP.

– If you have not yet signed-up to follow our music program on Facebook and Twitter, please do it now! Both Facebook and Twitter are FREE and allow us to post information there to help our parents stay informed.

– Additionally, please take a moment to sign-up for our Remind Text Messages. To sign-up, text the following codes to the number provided.

– All Band Students should have their instruments and supplies at this point. If you are missing supplies, please contact Mr. Schmidt immediately.

– Please take a moment to complete your Pasco County Schools Volunteer Application. It can be found at http://www.pasco.k12.fl.us. Parents may not chaperone or be involved with the school if they have not completed this form.
