Tonight’s Meeting is Cancelled

Tonight’s Band Booster Meeting is cancelled! My brother, Michael Schmidt, will be holding his Junior Recital at 6:00 p.m. in the USF Recital Hall. This is one of his last big items to complete before he can graduate and become a Band Director. So, it’s kind of a big deal for him. Unfortunately it means, I can’t make it back in time for our Booster Meeting. Since the meeting is being cancelled, here’s everything you need to know:

 

Financial:

Account Balance: $1,062.38

Upcoming Expenses: FBA Entry Fees for Symphonic Band, Jazz Band and Solo & Ensemble. Students will receive a letter stating the costs of participating in Solo & Ensemble.

– Other Information: On our last bank statement, our account had some fraudulent charges (totaling around $50.00). We are in contact with the bank to get these charges corrected. We’ll provide more information as we get this taken care of.

 

Old/New Business:

– FBA Jazz MPA Entry Fee and Forms are due to FBA by January 13th. The entry fees for this event will cost us $27.50.

– FBA Symphonic Band and Solo & Ensemble Entry Fee and Forms are due to FBA by March 1st. The entry fee for the Symphonic Band will cost us $102.50. The entry fee for Solo & Ensemble will not be known until student forms are returned with their $5.00 entry fee.

Trips: We will be sending a trip survey out to our families once we return from the break. Students will be able to tell what interests them most. Based on that feedback, we will determine what trip our program can take this Spring.

 

Booster Officers:

– Once we get some of this bank account stuff taken care of, we will need to meet up and complete our signature cards. By doing this we can guarantee that we won’t have some of these fraudulent charges again.

Festival of Lights Parade – 12/6/14

I’m sorry, but I accidentally left off that we have a parade on Saturday! Here’s the details:

 

Festival of Lights Parade:

December 6, 2014

Times:

  • Band Hall Opens – 4:30 p.m.
  • Warm-up – 4:45 p.m.
  • Walk to Parade – 5:30 p.m.
  • Parade – 6:00 p.m.
  • Pick-up – 6:35/6:45 p.m.

 

Uniform:

  • Band Polo Shirt
  • Black Pants, Socks, Slacks, Shoes
  • Decorations – Feel free to decorate yourselves. Deck yourselves out….just remember you must be able to still march and play. Your instrument must be able to work.

Tonight’s Band Booster Meeting is Cancelled!

Tonight’s Band Booster Meeting is cancelled! We have nothing new to discuss. The only item for us to take care of this meeting is paying our annual fee for our copier ($321.00).

 

Booster Officers: We need to get together sometime soon to do signature cards for the names on our bank account. We also need to finish the annual form for the school district, which requires signatures and banking information.

All-County Band Results

All-County Results are in! RBSMS had 9 students selected, while ZHS had 10 students selected! Congratulations to the following students who were accepted into the 2015 M.S. Pasco All-County Band:

All-County Audition Information

All-County Auditions will be taking place this upcoming Thursday, November 13th from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. We currently have 19 students scheduled to be auditioning. Remember, this is an audition and you should dress accordingly. If you’re unsure how to dress, ask.

 

Here’s our schedule:

4:30 p.m. – Band Hall Opens

4:45 p.m. – Depart for Charles S. Rusche M.S.

5:30 p.m. – Auditions begin. Students will have specific audition times provided to them.

8:00 p.m. – Depart for RBSMS.

8:45 p.m. – Arrive at RBSMS
